In the city, trees are often little more than part of the scenery of everyday life. Taalknoop seeks to explore and restore that connection; a single tree becomes a place of encounter. At the edge of a busy intersection in The Hague, a circle of calm emerges. While the city rushes on, participants take time for a collective ritual: tying a physical knot as a symbol of their relationship with nature, followed by entrusting a personal letter to the oak tree.
In de stad zijn bomen vaak slechts decor voor het dagelijks leven. Taalknoop wil die verbinding verkennen en herstellen; één boom wordt een ontmoetingsplek. Aan de rand van een druk kruispunt in Den Haag ontstaat een cirkel van rust. Terwijl de stad doorraast, nemen deelnemers de tijd voor een collectief ritueel. Het leggen van een fysieke knoop, symbool voor hun relatie met de natuur, met daarop volgend een persoonlijke brief die ze aan de eik toevertrouwen.

The tree becomes a place where stories converge. Conversations and connections arise between people and the tree, but above all among the people gathered beneath it.
De boom wordt de plek waar verhalen samenkomen. Er ontstaan gesprekken en verbindingen tussen mens en boom, maar vooral ook tussen de mensen onderling.
